The Beast Meets The Giant Hornet: Interview with Brian Minto

April 7, 2008

We catch up with Pro-Heavyweight Boxer Brian Minto before his title defence on Aril 27.

Minto will defend his WBA Fedecentro heavyweight belt in the twelve round main event against former NABA cruiser champ, Chad Van Sickle (22-7-3, 12 KOs). Both fighters are coming off wins at The Mountaineer on December 30th.

And you thought HJ was just for runners and triathletes?

Rina (HJ): Hi Brian, nice of you to take some time out for this online chit chat. I know you’ve got a big gig coming up on April 27…

Brian: Yup, I will defend my WBA Fedecentro heavyweight belt against Chad Van Sickle. You can read more about it in my official website http://www.brainmintoboxing.com

HJ: Well you had a blast last year by the ending the year on a high not by capturing that coveted title.

Brian: Yeah, I was up against veteran Byron Polley. Polley was a game opponent. The first right hand I landed was tremendous knocking him on his face also cutting his eye. stopping the fight after 1:51 into the first round…

HJ: Oooooh… Anyways, you’re a long time fan of Hornet Juice right?

Brian: Yah, I’ve been using Hornet Juice for a long time, maybe over a year now..

HJ: How did you hear about us?

Brian: Well it all happened by chance. A professional hockey player from the Pittsburgh Penguins gave it to my boxing trainer. So I gave it a try and never turned back since. What can I say, the stuff is amazing! I never get tired and it also helps my body recover after a hard work out.

The taste is very good, not too bitter, or not too sweet.

HJ: How do use it in your training?:

Brian: I mix the stuff with water or sports drink on an empty stomach 20 – 30 minutes before training. What I do find is that I have less muscle soreness and have noticeable body fat loss.

HJ: Great stuff! And we didn’t bribe you to say these things!

Brian: Yeah, hey when are you guys gonna pay me? ;-D

HJ: LOL!

Brian: But seriously, I think Hornet Juice is a great lactic acid buffer. I usually don’t get that “burn” feeling when throwing punches. As I told you in my testimonial that I sent you way back I feel a constant flow of energy. I am able to recover quickly when “hurt” in a fight. I believe that Hornet Juice was a viable factor in my ability to recover and score a tenth round KO over Vinny Maddelone on ESPN 2.

HJ: … And your recent successful bout with Polley?

Brian: You bet!

HJ: And you did say that another bonus about Hornet Juice is that it’s a legal substance.

Brian: Yeah. I have never tested positive for any banned substances, and I always drink Hornet Juice prior to fights.

HJ: Well we hope you can sting Chad Van Sickle at the Sunday Showdown…

Brian: Thanks! I am feeling great physically an mentally strong!

HJ: Ok just before you go… one more question. What’s your top 3 ipod tunes when working out?

Brian: 1) Popa Roach – Last Resort
2) Metallica – Fuel!
3) Creed – My sacrifice

HJ: What? No “Theme Song from Rocky”?

Brian: Haha… only on days when I’m feeling cheesey!

NOTE: Heavyweight contender Brian “The Beast” Minto (29-2, 18 KOs) will headline the seven bout card on Sunday, April 27th at The Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in Chester, West Virginia. What do you think of Hornet Juice?: It is so hard to tell any noticeable improved performance when I take it, but I know it works because I can tell when I FORGET to take it. Generally, I will feel my legs start to fatigue much sooner into a run and I may even feel pain that I usually do not feel. As I run, I consider and discard possible causes in my mind (did I get enough sleep? did I pull something I didn’t remember? did I eat enough?). After my mental list, I find that those days almost always coincide with my failure to take my Hornet Juice before my run.
